  1. My whole life I have struggled with severe asthma and as a result of that I was told by many specialists that I couldn’t play certain sports. Once I graduated high school in 2003, I had enough with people telling me that I “couldn’t” do certain things as a result of my asthma. I joined a gym and got a trainer and thus began my love of fitness combined with the healthy lifestyle that I had from a young age thanks to my parents.

    Weight-lifting 5-6 times per week and doing the occasional yoga class or spin class and adding in some HIIT training on the treadmill or stair master is what I had been doing since July of 2016 when I had to go on disability due to my asthma and work environment. At this time, my husband had suggested that we try going to a crossfit gym to see what it was all about. And, so we did.

    From the second we walked into the door of Landmark Crossfit, Rob and Val are extremely friendly and motivating. Having no experience what so ever with Olympic lifting, he and Val pay close attention to your form every class in order to ensure that you are doing everything properly. They are both very patient and encouraging with everyone as every move takes tremendous amounts of technique and coordination. Once you accomplish a movement that you have been working on or if you go up in weight, everyone is very overwhelmed with excitement for you!

    For myself, I tend to underestimate myself and hold back on putting more weight for certain things and if it weren’t for Val or Rob pushing me out of my comfort zone I would be making as much progress as I have.

    If you are intimidated to come and try class, I would just want you to know that there is no need to be! Especially if you’re coming to this gym. Everyone here is like one big family and you will always be welcomed by everyone, especially Val and Rob! The crossfit portion may be intimidating but it helps to be in a class with everyone who is going through the exact same thing as you! We all have our struggles but it’s motivating and encouraging each other that help every one of us rise above them!

    Since having attended Landmark Crossfit for the past 5 months, I have seen huge improvements in my asthma. I no longer have to take my ventolin puffer every day (which I have been since 1.5 years old) and I have also had the best results in my most recent pulmonary function test and I have Val and Rob to thank for that!

  2. This is an awesome CrossFit box! I was hesitant to try CrossFit as I didn’t feel like I was fit enough to even attempt a class, but after dropping by and talking to Rob and Val I decided to give it a try. And boy am I glad I did! Rob and Val take the time to make sure you are comfortable with the skills and weight. They are happy to help you scale any exercise to something that is doable but still helps you progress. If you have any injuries or limitations, they take the time to suggest stretches and exercises that can help and will tailor the work out for you so that you can still participate. And it’s not just Rob and Val that are awesome, everyone at the gym are really inviting, fun and helpful. If you are looking for a truly fun and inviting place to work out …. Landmark CrossFit is definitely the place!!

  3. I have regularly been attending Rob and Val’s crossfit classes for one month now and I am very impressed! Not only are they highly knowledgable and professional coaches, the atmosphere in their gym is energetic, fun, and so encouraging. I would definitely recommend anyone to check out Landmark Crossfit if you are looking for challenging yet rewarding workouts, a gym where the workouts are created/scaled for you, and a place where you leave feeling confident and wanting to go back for more!

  4. I would just like to thank Rob for the great attention to detail with my squat by keeping heels down and correcting my foot positioning during my first organized crossfit workout. I was encouraged to listen to my body and stay within my limits which meant breaking up sets, helping me to finish strong without injury. A great group of energetic athletes and fun atmosphere. A definite place to grow functionally and physically. Thanks again

  6. Landmark Crossfit is a great facility, with amazing coaches and top notch equipment. Rob and Val are both professional and very knowledgeable. They focus on correct technique and encourage everyone to do the best that they can. I would suggest this box for anyone, novice or seasoned athlete.

  7. Val and Rob are wonderful, energetic and encouraging trainers! I had been recently bored with my routine at the gym and decided to try something new. Not only was it a fun workout but they pushed me to my limits. If you’re looking for something new to try or want push yourself I highly recommend checking out Landmark CrossFit!

  8. What a welcoming environment! The trainers and the other gym members have been incredibly friendly. I haven’t been to a gym in a long time, and was feeling a bit nervous about going…I’m glad I just did it!

    The coaches, Rob & Val, are great, and really demand top form. If you’re thinking about going, just get off the fence and give it a try!

  11. Val and Rob are great coaches with plenty of knowledge. They focus on proper technique and proper form, providing helpful cues that assist you to attain your personal goals. If you are new to crossfit they offer an accommodating beginners class that they scale to your level; don’t worry, you’ll be leaving with a sweat and sense of accomplishment no matter what level you are at. Very friendly and accommodating atmosphere, they will be successful in building their box and their community.
